Ava's Spiritual Guidance by Honeynutfemios
Ava's is a charming little game you can complete both endings of in just under two hours- at least in my play experience. It's got a unique art style and keeps up pressure while also being funny! I was able to stream this live with commentary from Honeynutfemios themself- which I consider really cool! I had a great time with it, and I hope to try more games by them someday.
Trigger warnings for Ava's Spiritual Guidance: Claustraphobia, tornado sirens, flashing lights, mild audio gore.
Clinical Trial by Homie
I played Clinical Trial because it seemed heavily resonant with me as a trans person with ADHD, the art style of the game is also really eye-catching for the character expressions despite the medically sanitized dull pallete used to hammer home the point of the first portion of the game. I really enjoyed this game! I do think some events could have been swapped around for impact, but it's still an amazing title with a mildly insane (affectionate) fanbase producing beautiful artwork!
Trigger warnings for Clinical Trial: Off screen rape, traumatic flashbacks and panic attacks, stalking, pixel gore, on screen suicide, implied transphobia.
Silver Thread by Spicaze
Part of a free series, Silver Thread currently features two RPGmaker style games: Silver Thread, and Silver Thread: Deux. There's also a ren'py visual novel set in the universe! I've currently played both main RPGmaker games, and with the total of both clocking in at under two hours to get all endings- it's a wonderful little journey! This game is funny, has amazing artwork and designs, and seems to be ramping up to an even bigger story in the future- which I'm excited to learn more about!
Trigger warnings for Silver Thread: Murder, blood, cartoon violence.
Our Life by GBPatch
GBPatch is one of the bigger of the indie teams I'm recommending here- with incredibly detailed and personalized games that include detailed character customization and games that make you truly feel like you're impacting the characters around you. While both Our Life games have paid DLC for extra events, there's a fully complete game waiting for you for absolutely free in both games!

The Copper Knight by Melon-Kid
A recommendation that immediately caught my eye, you play as a level one adventurer making your way through a level 40 dungeon- scheming your way around for your own quest that seems to be revealed over time! I haven't currently finished this game as of writing... I'm very excited to, though~ Definitely give this game a shot, as it's got one of the most unique styles of the games currently recommended on this page.

Mushroom Musume by Mortally Moonstruck
This particular entry is actually a demo for a larger game that releases on June 20th 2025! I add it because one run alone takes an hour and there's up to thirty different endings you can get in the demo alone. So despite it technically not being a full game, it's a lovely standalone demo to get lots of play out of! The artstyle is charming as you explore the world through both the eyes of a parent and their growing daughter!
